Your text and your poems
- Spell checker: your text is checked on your device against a word list file the page downloads. It is never uploaded. Words you add to "my words" are kept in your own browser's local storage and the "Forget my added words" button deletes them.
- Magnetic poetry: your poem stays in the page. A share link carries the poem after the
#in the address, a part that browsers do not send to the server; anyone you give the link to can read the poem.
What is collected
- By Letterbench: nothing. Pages and tools are static files and we run no tracking or audience-measurement scripts.
- By the hosting provider: Cloudflare, which serves the site, keeps standard technical logs (such as IP address, time and requested page) to deliver pages and protect against attacks. See the legal notice for the host's details.
Images and fonts
Photos are stored on this site and load from the same address as the pages; no image or script is fetched from a third party. The heading typeface (Fraunces) is loaded from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when your browser requests it. Photo sources are listed on the photo credits page.
